ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
It is an ESC volunteering activity that includes cultural interaction and experience sharing by bringing together young people who are interested in and socially aware of fields such as art, sports, media, environment, culture, and global issues. With this activity, it is aimed to enable participants to gain social awareness and develop competencies related to their careers. Contributing to the development of skills such as creativity, working in groups, adaptation to digital transformation, green skills, problem-solving, and intercultural dialogue is also among the main objectives of this activity.
This activity has been designed with an approach that contributes to the capacity development of our institution, which carries out youth activities including disadvantaged groups, while also allowing the volunteer to develop themselves.
Some of the activities of our institution are as follows:
Nature and sustainable environment activities in our own forest area (planting activities, beekeeping, tree planting and maintenance, renewable energy applications, etc.)
Psychosocial and cultural activities to help earthquake-affected families reconnect with life,
Activities related to the social integration of migrants,
Science, art, sports, and language education for disadvantaged youth and children (these trainings are carried out in our own well-equipped facilities),
Humanitarian aid activities for families in need,
Academic support trainings for orphaned children,
Vocational training courses for disadvantaged women (cooking, sewing, embroidery, etc.),
Activities such as bicycle tours, nature walks, and nature camps for young people and adults,
Fun and educational activities for children and families in socioeconomically disadvantaged suburban areas.
Within the scope of this activity, the volunteer is expected to contribute to visibility activities so that the above-mentioned activities can reach wider audiences.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD, AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Our institution has male and female student dormitories. Participants will stay in these dormitories during the period determined within the scope of the project. Accommodation rooms are for two people. Food and beverage needs will be provided by our institution at our facility, and 3 meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) will be served. (Participants who have conditions such as vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerance, etc. should inform the authorized persons in our institution regarding meal support). In short, all requirements for comfortable accommodation have been considered.
Most of the activities will take place in the institution building. However, with the support of mentors, off-site activities (trips, cinema, etc.) may also take place within planned schedules, and transportation services will be provided to our participants for this purpose.
Accordingly, the daily allowance that each accepted volunteer will receive within the scope of the project is as follows:
Pocket Money (per day): 5 euro
In addition, travel support will be provided in the amount specified in the 2023 ESC application guide, according to the data obtained from the distance band.
If necessary, exceptional expenses of participants such as visa, residence permit, etc. will also be covered by our institution.
More detailed information is included in our institution’s information package.
